This Privacy & Cookie Policy explains how OpenAGI Foundation (“OpenAGI”, “we”, “our” or “us”), a Cayman Islands entity, collects, uses, and discloses personal information in connection with our website located at https://openagi.xyz/ (the “Site”) and the events we organize. Our Site provides information about our project and events, allows you to register for events, and allows you to sign up to receive update emails. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws. For the purposes of data protection law, OpenAGI is the data controller for personal data you provide. If you have any questions about this Policy or your rights, you can contact us at contact@sentient.foundation.
When you register for events through our Site or third-party platforms such as Luma, we may collect your name, email address, and other details you choose to provide. When you sign up to receive update emails, we collect the email address you voluntarily provide, and you must click to agree to this Privacy Policy before submitting it. We also collect standard web analytics data, such as page views, browser type, and device information, to improve your experience on our Site. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect payment details.
We use the information we collect to manage event registrations, communicate event updates, send you the update emails you have requested, improve our Site and services, and respond to inquiries submitted through our speaker and sponsor application forms. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Our Site uses essential cookies to ensure basic functionality. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with our Site; where required by law, we set non-essential cookies only with your prior consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time through our cookie consent tool or your browser settings. We do not use cookies for advertising or for tracking across other websites.
We process your email address on the basis of your consent, which you provide when you agree to this Policy and submit your email address. We process event registration information to register you for, and administer, the events you ask to attend. We rely on our legitimate interests to operate, secure, and improve our Site, including through analytics, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms. You may withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing (see “Your Rights and Choices” below).
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your personal information with trusted service providers who help us operate our Site and email update service (for example, an email delivery or event registration platform), and only to the extent necessary for them to perform those services on our behalf. We may also share information with event co-hosts and sponsors only as necessary to facilitate the events you register for, and only with your consent where required by law. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
We employ appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your personal information for as long as you remain subscribed to our update emails or as needed to provide event-related services. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we will promptly remove it from our records, unless we are required to retain it by law.
OpenAGI is based in the Cayman Islands but operates globally. Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses, for such transfers.
Where Article 27 of the EU GDPR or UK GDPR requires us to designate a representative in the EU and/or the UK, we will appoint one and will publish its name and contact details in this Policy. In the meantime, data subjects in the EU and the UK may contact us at contact@sentient.foundation regarding any data protection matter, and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw your consent at any time. You can unsubscribe from update emails at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us at contact@sentient.foundation. Depending on your location, you may also have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, please contact us at contact@sentient.foundation. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Our Site is not intended for children under 16 in the EU/UK or under 13 in the United States (or the minimum digital consent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will promptly delete it.
Our Site uses and links to third-party services, including Luma for event registration, YouTube for video hosting, and standard web analytics providers. These services have their own privacy policies and terms, and any information you provide to them is subject to those policies, not this Policy. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or security of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their policies for details on how they handle your data.
This Privacy Policy and any matter relating to it are governed by the laws of the Cayman Islands, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. This does not deprive you of any mandatory data protection rights available to you under the laws of your country of residence.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on our Site or notify subscribers by email where required by law. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this Policy indicates when the latest changes were made.
For privacy-related questions or requests, please contact us at contact@sentient.foundation.
